I needed a version of the WP-AddQuicktag plugin (originally by Roel Meurders) that was compatible with WordPress 2.1 for use on another of my blogs. I found a German language version of the plugin (by Frank Bueltge) that worked in WP 2.1 and translated it back to English. Easy peezy!

AddQuicktags (en) works with WP 1,5 * and WP 2.1.

Installation:

  1. Download the and in WP-AddQuicktag.zip plugin and unpack.
  2. Upload wp-addquicktag.php to (/wp-content/plugins/).
  3. In the your WordPress blog’s site administration section go to Plugins and activate WP-AddQuicktag (en).
  4. Plugin use: Options - ADD Quicktags
  5. When you choose to write a new post you will find a button for your newly created Quicktag in the Code tab of your editor.
