:: About - Mike's Lunch ::

How did this all get started? Why do you continue? What hardware and software do you use in the creation of your lunch page? Are you out of your mind? Who the hell are you? Where did you buy that shirt? These are all questions that I get asked almost every day.

First, who I am:

Whacko!My Name, as if you haven't already guessed is, Mike Browne, I live in Maple Ridge, BC, Canada with my wife, Carol, and our dog, Moosh. I work at eSportz.com in Vancouver, BC, as the web Designer there.

How this began & why I continue:

When I was working at OnlineOffice.com (a dot-gone) my office mates and I were always trying to come up with new ways to entertain ourselves. I had a crappy little scanner at my desk, and as a lark one day I scanned my lunch. Carrying the joke even further I put it up on the web at my site, www.mikebrowne.com. I sent the URL to friends and away it went. My lunch was an instant hit.
The page fell dormant for a while due to unemployment and a lack of a decent scanner. However, upon my employment here, again I was supplied with a scanner. After getting my sea-legs at my new job, and with the prompting of a few friends, I started scanning again. I keep doing it because some people actually like it. If it makes one person smile I've done a good deed for the day.

Hardware and software I use:

My PC at work is a dual P3 750 with 512 MBS of RAM running Windows 2000 Pro for an OS. In other words, smokin'! My scanner is a Hewlett Packard IIcx seen at the left. I use Adobe Photoshop v6.0 as image editing software and Macromedia's Dreamweaver UltraDev v4.0 as an HTML editor. The whole exercise takes me less than 15 minutes per day. I do it either first thing in the AM or on my lunch break. I have the page itself hosted on my mikebrowne.com site. Easy as pie! I Bought a digital camera too! It's a Nikon Coolpix 950. Very cool indeed! I can take lunch on the road now.

As to whether or not I am crazy:
I'll never tell, but there may be health professionals out there who may wish to say bad things.

Where I buy my shirts:
Anywhere I see something loud or a little different.
